Departments of Gwagwalada Area Council

The Administrative Structure:

This is made up of purely the civil servants otherwise called the bureaucrats. They perform purely civil service duties as contained in the extant public service rules. They also help in formulating government policies which are meant to touch the people positively in every ramification. At the head of this organ is the Director of Administration, whose duty is to oversee the entire daily administrative activities of all the departments that make up the Council’s administrative organ.

The Council has the following departments which are headed by Directors:

Personnel Management

The Department of Personnel Management is responsible for overseeing the administration and management of staff within the council.

Agricultural and Rural Services

This department focuses on improving agricultural practices and rural development within the council.

Environmental Services

The Environmental Services department ensures the maintenance and improvement of the council’s environmental health and sanitation.

Primary Health Care

This department is responsible for providing basic health care services and managing public health initiatives within the council.

Education and Social Development

The Education and Social Development department focuses on improving educational services and social welfare programs for the residents of the council.

Finance and Account

The Finance and Account department manages the financial resources and budgeting processes of the council.

Works and Housing

The Works and Housing department is responsible for infrastructure development, maintenance of public buildings, and housing projects within the council.

Internal Audit

The Internal Audit department ensures the council’s operations are conducted in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and audits financial transactions to ensure transparency and accountability.

All the above-mentioned departments are further broken into Divisions, Sections, and Units to enhance officers’ performance, due diligence, and for effective and easier service delivery to the people.
